Grinding vs. Lifeskills for Money

Grinding

 

And here we have our grinding, even at the end of the game. we can make 230 million an hour using Scrools and Agris and if we are lucky to get an earring sometimes .. But of course RNG. In other words, Grinding even with new points of griding (Hadum) is very bad in my view in comparison, to the life skill.

 

Life Skill

 

Active lifeskilling like gathering, once you fully understand the marketplace and what to craft and gather for that, is more money than any grinding in game when it comes to $/hr of active time played.

I’ve noticed players making Billions in months like 30 billion, 100 billion and like some players experiencing 600 billion in 6 months like our AgentRuss youtuber .. that is insane, giving much more value to Life skill than Griding end points of the game

 

The RNG !!!

 

The RNG elements in Black Desert Online, of which there are many, are mostly bad in my opinion. Losing a bunch of progress you’d already made with a single click, for example when an item downgrades again due to a failed upgrade attempt, is just the antithesis of fun. Sometimes an accessory with a 50.2% chance and missing 6 times ??? OK something is wrong and this is not luck

This game and making silver is not soley based on life-skills, it's a multitude of things that you should be doing to make billions of silver each week.

 

Some life-skills depending on how much time and effort you put into them will net/yield you more than others with minimal effort but you can't compare apples to oranges.

 

Russ is a smart guy and all his moves are calculated when making his money compared to typical "cooking" life-skillers so I would not compare his money making to other streaming life-skillers out there.

 

As far as RNG goes, all I can say is this. It would not surprise me in the least if some people's accounts were flagged to have bad RNG 75% of the time while others have a lower % of failure. We had hidden stats for years and they had a melt down when WTFbloo had datamined their files and brought their shady practices of hiding it to the light "His account was banned/sacrificed for this".

Thank you Graugus for your humble opinion. I understand that things are not done to obtain easily, but we have to think this is a Game, not a job, not a life !! We want to get home from our work, relax, play a lot and not have to imagine the following way "Come on, buy everything so you don't lose the progress I've made over this time" I think it's stupid for a game to be like this.
I'm not complaining about my Gear because I'm fine for now and I can be in the final spots of the game. But I don't want to evolve equipment from Tet to Pen because I know where it will end.

All Games have RNG I agree that they have to have, but in the Enhancement Chance to evolve this is very bad. I don't know who WTFbloo is or what he did

They made the game easier, but they could improve more things so that we don't lose progress just by luck or we don't spend millions of euros to get something.

Honestly everything in this game takes effort, its all up to RNG how fast you progress.

I know I have bad RNG, after 4 years I finally got my first PEN and 240 kutum...

 

I think there should be a set # of mobs killed for key items like the potion parts, map and compass...

OR make it so that when in party both get the drop instead of 1. This would eliminate most pvp and make it overall more bearable (I can't pvp because of my reuma, it also makes me grind alot less than the average no lifer).

 

It feels like grinding is a "job" for sure, I prefer life skilling myself (again low mastery because RNG is against me xd)

But like Graugus said, its a combination of things that bring in the money and you need to be calculated to make big bucks efficiently.

 

If I tryhard I can make about 500m-1b a day with my current stats & (not yet Carrack lmao) ship.

I know some people in my friends list can make at least double that, either in grinding or lifeskilling (mostly bartering).

But I also know what their gear is and how long it took them to get it so I don't think its that broken.

 

I just wish RNG would soften up a bit, at least for the unlucky ones :)

It's not fun for a veteran to see players of 2-3 wks old passing you with ease because they're blessed with RNG.

That's a bad thing to post given the release of Elvia and making Value Packs extremely more P2W with a daily loot scroll.  Some of these new areas are less reliant on rare drops and grant extreme silver/hr values.  As always there is no time limit or restrictions either besides scrolls.  However, even without scrolls they are still quite high.

 

It's easier to make the OPPOSITE argument now that Life Skills need a boost to keep up with grinding rate.  These new areas also avoid the market place taxes, which is good, but also needs to be accounted for.

 

Imperial Delivery, Bartering, Cooking, Alchemy, Fishing, Hunting, Trading essentially just not nerfed.

You should play a game to have fun.....not to make money.  Making money is just a by product of what you decide to do.  If you decide to focus just on money making you may not last long in BDO.

Grind, enhance, PvP. This is BDO to me and I love it.

 

Playing for 4 years, zero self-enhanced PEN, currently 300/302/342 wearing Nouver, evasion based armor, two TET Disto and TET Revived Lunar Necklace (accuracy) and rising.

 

It is possible without some super RNG carry and excessive P2W. You just gotta figure it out for yourself, which to me, is part of the fun :)
