Before anything, this is for people who are mostly "pure, innocent" and expect a game such as BDO-- to have a welcoming community. Unfortantely, you aren't going to find this game very interesting as the general community is extremely vuglar, rude and occasionally- very idiotic arguments start comin about. I'm just going to say this, if you want an honest opinion with this game, it's great, but when it comes to the community- it is absolutely horrific. You are obviously going to find that in a lot of communities, but you can only report people if they spam? No no no, I don't wish to be bluntly honest, but- gaming companies like these, they will not care as they find it "small problems" when they have so many things to handle besides the environment of the game.

I would highly recomend joining a nice friendly guild if you are new, one that is accepting to new player questions and will help you grow on your adventure.

I have world chat/server chat and all that toxic spam muted and just play/talk to guildies, and its nice and chill :)

Snowflakes have no place in multiplayer games.

There are loots of good singleplayer and coop games. If you need a safespace help on yourself.

Wow thats one rude comment and reducing a mmo to only competetion and rivalery is fucked up. I would understand it if you were playing csgo and someone would whine all the time that the other guys kill him but bdo offers great and friendly communities and lots of stuff you can do that dosn't involve pvp. You get what youre looking for and at the end of the day whenever it is a solo ego pvp elite player that treat bdo as real life or some non reflex victim pve carebear player who couln't hold a spot with his endgame gear vs a level 7 shai they equally both part of the game and have the same right to remain and enjoy their fields of interest.

Also not every mmo is as toxic as bdo wich is made intentionally to be toxic, the purpose of a mmo is to play it with other players together , making some good expiriences and have a good time in a group. You can't have that in a solo game.

To be honest, BDO's community is pretty toxic/trash as a whole, on par with communities like LOL or WOW. The OP isn't wrong, the majority of players you'll see in chat are pretty awful and the forums mimic those same players to an extent but as Clear recommended, find a guild that works for you. Most folx in general chat are kicking the shit / shitposting so focus on a guild or clan that you vibe with and BDO will become immensely less toxic for you.

As for everyone going on about how that's just the MMO space, yeah you're not entirely wrong but I look at FFXIV's community and it's overall a net positive and quite welcoming for new players & veterans alike. The PVP in that game is pretty basic/lacking but I don't think PVP should be the defining factor for why a community is toxic or not.

Which rude comment? If it's the post I made, there was no intent on hurting PA, it was more of a general statement that if people who are here to make "friendly communities"- nowadays, you will rarely find that.

No it is a fact, not a first time. It's blunt, but very much a statement to consider others who really wish to understand what the community in public is about.

Haha, yeah very agreeable. This post is mostly for people who are just geniunely new to mmo games like BDO, WOW etc. A lot of people expect it to be nice and sweet- but don't let your expectations flood the reality.
