My secret spot
I like sailling and ocean stuff and I sometimes like to name my characters after island's name. One time I search for a new name for my characters and stumble upon this island. To an average sailor in Dancing Marlin Tavern, "Nada" is just a nonchalant expression of no sea monster hunt guild mission on their channel. To me it's a little bit more special or silly I should say.
A couple of years ago, when I first started playing this game, I met a Finnish guy in game. We were both noobs and I remember really enjoy exploring the Black Desert world together. We usually go chopping tree for log together and work towards an Epheria Frigate because sea monster hunt was a big deal back then. We don't have T4 Hedgehog so it was a pain to get the log. So half way through building it he got lazy and decide to abandon it and just save up Shakatu Seals and exchange for an Epheria Sailboat. After learning that the best way to kill sea monster is to ram the hell out of it from the back instead of shooting it, he then thinks that its not cool anymore so he just use the boat to do trading for silver instead. You wont see it nowadays but back then you will casually see people spamming server or world chat and asking people to look for imperial trading stuff like Haso Silk in their channel. My friend would jump into guild discord and ask everyone to check it for him in a funny way. We usually hangout in discord together, talking about random stuff irl and after each session, when he leave, he will say "Nada" that means see you later or something. And c'est la vie, I think this happens to all of us at some points If you have been gaming for a long time. One day you still hear him say "Nada", the next time you check your friend list you see 700D ++ away and he just disappear forever :).
After the service transfer our friendlist get wiped so I guess this island is the only place left that hold some memory of the fun journey I have been through. While I usually recommend people to go watch sunset at Arehaza Beach to chill when they are burnt out from grinding or from real life, a part of myself feels that the vast ocean view from Arehaza harbor makes me feels a bit empty, a bit "Nada", a bit lost. The sunset here in Nada cove is pretty unique. It is not sensational or glorious like the normal beach view. Instead, the sunlight will slowly seeping away from the inside, climbing up the surrounding mountain walls and slip away. It feels just like how your friends slowly stop playing and the darkness, the loneliness slowly pouring into your soul.
However, the way the island structure makes me feels really cozy. The donut shape makes me feels like I get a warm hug from the island when Im inside the cove. The main entrance and exit is also very unique. You cannot drive your boat straight into the cove like Lerao island but you have to follow a narrow path between the crack of the mountain and enter by jumping into the water and exit by follow into a cave and tunnel and jumping to the outside. There is also a spiral path way on the side where you can follow and go to the top of the island. I highly recommend you visit here If you like exploration.
Everyone wants to keep a secret spot to themselves but I want to share mine because I want that sweet Jukebox for my residence and that cute Squirrel. WAIT. I mean I want to share mine because along the way you lose some friends but you also make new friends. So I want to share this spot to find new friends and continue to enjoy BDO journey together. Hopefully Port Ratt update will come so I can finally watch merchants trading silk from the Haso kingdom and enjoy a lively harbor view from the top of Nada Island.
Sorry for the long post and have a nice day :D.
Awesome job Lou! Congrats!!!
Nada is such a cool island. My first time there, we couldn't find the way in (the swimming way), so we went around and around eventually climbing the outside, after probably going against the spiral (we found it afterwards). And then after talking to the otter inside about some fish... we discovered the swimming/cave way out. XD
That was a fun day, exploring all the island south of Ratt for knowledge and NPCs, and discovering some interesting new types of corals/sea creatures for underwater gathering...
I haven't been back since to tell the otter I did catch the fish he asked for... (daily turned 4+ months? XD) but sadly I ate them so I'll have to catch him some more.
Love that you call it a donut, too... to me it's "Donut Island 2".. as athe first Donut Island I found is down near Shasha towards the passage heading to Valencia and Arehaza... that one is a death trap! (I could not find a safe way down... even with the V escape, I turned back and hit the water with so much force I broke every bone in my Musa's body and he died instantly from the shock of it.) One day I will discover its secrets...
... Perhaps with you? :D
Hello,
Unfortunately, Nada Island is no more. They wiped it off the map and placed The Land of Morning Light on top of it. Big sad V_V
