Greetings Adventurers,
Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on April 6, 2023 (Thu). Today’s patch contains 101 updates and is approximately 4.39GB.
Trading Activity Revamp
There have been significant changes to trading in Black Desert. Trade items can now only be purchased at designated nodes and can only be sold in representative towns in major cities or territories.
Previously, there existed a "price warranty period" when purchasing trade items. Now, the price will depend on the "time of purchase" rather than on the item itself. For example, if you buy 10 units of Trade Item A from Velia Farm, this item will be stored in the "Order Contract Log" assigned to each Family, and all units of Trade Item A purchased together will have the same "price warranty period". The Order Contract Log can be managed separately at each node where trading is available (like storage), and the price warranty period allows for all units to be sold at the same price until the period expires, rather than immediately affecting the price after a certain amount of time has passed. (The price warranty period will last for 7 days from the time of purchase, and for 3 hours upon retrieval.)
There have also been changes in market prices. The market price will now change at a set time (once every 4 hours) instead of fluctuating based on random sales. Prices will rise or fall based on probability, with a maximum increase of 300%. (This market price is not affected by the sale of trade goods by other adventurers and is the same across all servers.)
In addition, a "special fluctuation" will occur throughout the entire territory, where trade item prices will change significantly at fixed times. Information on these fluctuations can be gathered through "rumors" from residents in each territory, which can somewhat help in predicting theese changes in advance. You can find a collection of these rumors in the Old Moon Guild Newsletter. These rumors may or may not be applied 4 hours after circulating, or may even be incorrect. For example, if there were rumors about a sudden surge in prices, the prices may really surge, remain unchanged, or even drop sharply. Therefore, Adventurers should directly confirm the truth of these rumors and increase the accuracy of their predictions for the market fluctuations by observing the residents of the Black Desert world.
For example, if there is a rumor that food prices are skyrocketing in the Calpheon region, you can visit the Calpheon Northern Wheat Plantation and observe the residents' complaints about this year's unfruitful harvest. (On rare occasions the residents may show no response. Thus, considering the territory's overall situation and careful judgment will be crucial.)
In summary, for players to aim for profitable sales, they must be smart in deciding when to buy goods, how much to buy, how to store them, and in analyzing the price trends within the price guarantee period.
This trade system update is just the beginning, and there will be more upcoming events and further improvements to maritime trade.
We ask for your continued support and anticipation of these upcoming changes as well.
- The Trade System has been revamped.
- Trade goods can only be purchased at designated nodes and can only be sold at representative towns and major cities in each territory.
Trade Items
- Added 202 new trade items. See the list below for the information on their weight, prices, warehouse costs, etc.
- Certain items can only be purchased after achieving a certain node investment level.
- The weight of each trade item is 300 LT.
- The trade item purchase limit is 50 units, and the limit resets at 02:00, 06:00, 10:00, 14:00, 18:00, and 22:00 (UTC) everyday.
- Trade items available for purchase at nodes are priced with very low Distance and Bargain Bonuses. (The prices of trade items such as fishes and Ancient Gold Coins are the same as before.)
* About 8.8% of the original Distance Bonus and 14.2% of the original Bargain Bonus will be applied.
Purchasing Trade Items
- The nodes from which you can purchase trade items (nodes where Order Contracts are availabe) are listed below.
- Purchased trade items will be added to the Order Contract Log, and can be retrieved at any time from your inventory or mount inventory.
- A one-time standby fee is incurred immediately after purchase, and an additional fee is added every 4 hours from the time of purchase.
- The standby fee will be deducted from your Silver upon retrieving the item, and you must pay a certain sum in order to retrieve the item.
- A contract period of 7 days will be set for trade goods placed in the Order Contract Log, and if the goods are not retrieved within the contract period, they will be sold at 25% of the original price.
- The price of the forced sale will be paid after deducting the standby fee.
- When the trade items are retrieved from the Order Contract, they will have a 3-hour validity period regardless of the contract period.
- During the 3-hour validity period, retrieved trade items will not affected by price drops that occur during the remaining validity period.
Planned purchases and management: Order Contract
- With the addition of the Order Contract system, you can add trade items you want to purchase onto the Order Contract Log.
- You can manage your Order Contract Log at any node where trade is available.
- Trade items of the same type and warranty period can overlap and be stored in 1 slot.
- Velia Wine x15 stored (Warranty period: 5 days)
- Velia Wine x10 stored (Warranty period: 2 days)
- Fox Fur x10 stored (Warranty period: 7 days)
- Velian Plank x10 stored (Warranty period: 7 days)
- Alchemist's Red Reagent x10 stored (Warranty period: 7 days)
-
- The Order Contracts at each node will have 5 slots available for storage, with a weight limit or 20,000LT and a warranty of 7 days..
- If items stored in the Order Contract are not retreived, and additional fee will be added every 4 hours.
- Items retreived from the Order Contract will have their warranty periods changed to 3 hours, and cannot be logged again.

Trade Item market price fluctuations 1. Market price changes by Time
- Changes in market prices of trade items are as below.
- Market prices will change everyday at 02:00, 06:00, 10:00, 14:00, 18:00, and 22:00 (UTC).
- Market prices can increase or decrease by max 15%.
- Prices can increase by up to 300% (3 times) the original price and decrease by up to 30%.
Trade Item market price fluctuations 2. Rumors of special price fluctuations
- Everyday at 02:00, 06:00, 10:00, 14:00, 18:00, and 22:00 (UTC), a special price fluctuation will occur. When a special price fluctuation occurs, the current price can increase by up 200% (twice the price), or decrease by up to 50%.
- Special price fluctuations will occur after the 15% market price changes, which occurs every 4 hours.
- Market prices will change by each territory and category of trade item. Such categories are listed below.
- General Goods, Luxury, Food, Medicine, Military Supply, Relic, Clothing, Raw Material
- Before special price fluctuations occur, information can be gathered in advance to predict the change in market prices.
-
- You can see rumors about trade items that may be affected by the special price fluctuations through the Old Moon Guild Newsletter, which can be accessed through the Life (F6) tab in the Menu (ESC).
-
-
- Special price fluctuations will differ by territory and item category, and you'll have access to rumors about 2-3 of the 8 item categories.
- Rumors may or may not be applied 4 hours upon circulating, or may even be incorrect.
-
"I really like that one! Can't you just sell another one?"
"One per person really means one per person! No exceptions!"
"How much longer is the wait?"
"I think rubies suit me!"
"Me... likey shiny things."
"My apologies. We're out of stock, so there's no more to sell."
"There must be a way... please?"
As rumored, people are flocking to buy luxury item, crystals.
If so many people want crystals, won't the price go up soon?
"I'm glad I can get a kite for my child as they're quite affordable now."
"Haha, you really sought after it, and your wish came true!"
"Yeah!! I really like you, granny!!"
The price of kites, once a general good, has plummeted, with even children playing with them.
Should I keep them in storage for a while until the price goes up?
