Prepare a +100 Enhancement Chance stack. (Does not count the Valks’ Cry/Adventure Log bonuses).
Exchange the [Event] Seal of Challenge, which you can obtain from defeating monsters, gathering and fishing, for an Advice of Valks (+100)!
Second!
Summon the Black Spirit, open the enhancement window, and select the “Extract” option.
Third!
Select the [Event] Origin of Dark Hunger and Devour it!
The maximum limit for Devouring has been increased from +200 to +230, so now is the time to surpass your limits!

Valks' Cry
- An item that gives Enhancement Chance +1. This item can be stacked, so if you used five, you would receive +5 enhancement chance increase.
[Event] Essence of Limits
- Used to craft the Craft [Event] Origin of Dark Hunger, which is a material for Devouring.
Concentrated Boss's Aura
- An item used to craft Blackstar gear. Obtained by heating boss gear such as Kzarka weapons and Bheg’s Gloves.
[Event] Golden Blessing of Agris
- An item that contains the energy of Agris, the god of abundance. Grants an Item Drop Amount +100% buff when used.
Item Collection Increase Scroll
- Use this item to receive buffs depending on the activated Item Collection level.
[Event] Giovan Grolin's Support Scroll
- Use this item to obtain a Life Skill Mastery +100 and Life EXP +20% buff.
Additional Notices
- All the event items ([Event] Seal of Challenge, [Event] Essence of Limits, [Event] Essence of Devouring, and [Event] Origin of Dark Hunger) will be removed during the maintenance on September 21, 2022 (Wed).
- Any ongoing [Event] Essence of Limits exchange quests will be forfeited during the maintenance on September 21, 2022 (Wed).
- Any enhancement increase chances created using the [Event] Origin of Dark Hunger during the event will not be deleted after the event ends.
- The [Event] Essence of Devouring can be sold to NPC Vendors for 300 million.
- You can obtain and use up to a maximum of 28 [Event] Origin of Dark Hunger.
- Valks’ Cry and Adventure Log enhancement chance increase will not be counted when using the [Event] Origin of Dark Hunger. The enhancement chance increase must be at least +100 without any bonuses.
- Devour will not be possible with stacks +230 or higher.
- The [Event] Nostalgia Classic Box cannot be listed on the Central Market.
- Please refer to the [Event] Nostalgia Classic Box’s description to learn more about which outfits can be obtained.
- Essence of Limits & Origin of Dark Hunger challenge is only available once a day starting after the maintenance on August 24. 2022 (Wed).
- The “Seals of Challenge” login challenge can only be completed once a day per Family and resets daily at midnight (server time).
- Pearl Abyss reserves the right to change or cancel the event depending on mitigating circumstances. If changes are made, they can be found on this event page.
- Event items may have restrictions (sale/trade) and/or different binding settings/expiration dates. Due to this reason, these items cannot be transferred or restored.
