What is the International Day of Forests?

In 2012, the United Nations proclaimed March 21 as the International Day of Forests to celebrate and raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests'

Not only do forests purify the water, clean the air, and provide resources for us, but they also play a crucial role in being biologically diverse ecosystems that are homes to animals, plants, and insects.

What is happening on the International Day of Forests?

To celebrate the International Day of Forests, many local and national organizations organize activities such as tree-planting campaigns – these efforts and others are made on this day to raise awareness of the importance of forests.
