Greetings, Adventurer, could you please introduce yourself and describe your adventure so far in the world of Black Desert since it began?

Hello! I’m Risee, and I’ve been playing BDO since March 2016, with some breaks here and there, so yeah, it’s been over 9 years since the game launched (feels old man). My first character was a Tamer, and I played her for over 4 years, so a lot of old-school players can still recognize me from back then.
When Pearl Abyss developers added the gear copy system, I decided to switch back to Striker, who I played a bit when he first came out in 2017. Changing your main class used to be such a pain in the a*s back in the day since weapon swapping was way harder compared to now, and there were other issues too. The new gear copy mechanic made it so much easier, and honestly, the Striker’s playstyle just feels right for me since I’ve always picked assassins or fighters in other games. Anyways, I don't wanna sound like some old dude rambling about the good old days, though, so I'll chill on the nostalgia. 🙂 Since then I'm still on Striker and you can find me occasionally stream on twitch.tv/risee

Nice to meet you, Risee...or Raiga? What's the difference between them, and why did you decide to go by Raiga as your in-game family name but Risee as your go-to for everywhere else?
When I first created my account, I wasn’t really sure what exactly is family name, so I just used a variation of my real last name, which matches my character’s name, Risee. Back in the day (yep, here comes the old times) people used to call each other by their character names since you couldn’t have multiple mains. Over time, though, as people started creating more characters and weapon exchange coupons were released, most began using their family names to refer to each other. That’s why some people call me Risee/Rice, and others call me Raiga. It doesn’t bother me at all, and actually in my community there’s even a meme where these two are seen as totally different personalities 😀
Alright, well, I don't know with which of the two personalities we're talking to today, but I think everyone is glad to have you here! Back to the conversation, and when Voltarion was first announced, how much of a goal did it become for you? How much work did you put into this objective so that you made sure to obtain as many Traces as possible every week as soon as they became available?
At first, I wasn’t too excited about it. After seeing the teaser during Heidel Ball stream, I knew it was going to be the best horse in the game. However, the limited amount of traces and content available to obtain it made me think it would take around 3-4 months before someone would manage to get it. So, Node Wars, Sieges and War of the Roses all relied on my alliance and the only thing I could really focus on was the weekly Sangoon and Arena of Solare season where I achieved Incarnate rank in 192 games. Also, I could get one trace a week from the Deposed Crown Prince but let's not talk about that. ^^

▲ Me, jealous? No, I don't know what you mean by that. (I need it)
We both discussed your doubts about being the first in EU to tame Voltarion. Would you mind sharing a bit more about what you found challenging?
When you wrote on my stream that there was no Voltarion on EU yet, especially when I was already at 290+ pity, it really surprised me. I was sure another guild had won more sieges than us, and I honestly thought that someone had already collected 300 traces.
▲ Sometimes a bit of rest is necessary.
Did you discuss it with anyone ahead of time, such as your guild or alliance, to see how many others could have obtained it?
No, I couldn’t care less about it because I was 100% sure that someone had already unlocked Voltarion around the same time as on the NA server.

As a Veteran Black Desert Adventurer, I can easily imagine that Dream and Mythical horses have always been a part of your journey. So I reckon Voltarion had the same appeal for you, or was there something more than obtaining it that appealed to you, such as the method to acquire it?
Getting Voltarion is a bit different from grinding out the Merchant Ring, hitting a Sovereign weapon on DEC or awakening a T10 horse. Here, progress is heavily limited by time, and there is no way to speed it up, so I just tried to take part in PvP content as often as possible.
Highly motivated, I see, you just have to keep pushing forward!
▲ The man of the hour!
How did you feel knowing you were the first one in Europe to accomplish this goal? It's not every day that you can proudly say that you were the first to do it.
I was definitely surprised because I didn’t expect it at all. For a moment, I thought I was being trolled since someone mentioned seeing an announcement after War of the Roses that someone got Voltarion a few days earlier but it turned out to be the NA server.
