Lots of Treasure!
Greetings, Adventurers!
Today we feature a legendary adventurer from Europe!
Hello, my name is GM Polly, in August, we revealed that we would be starting a new series, one where we explore various aspects of the game and interview players who have achieved spectacular results in these areas. Today we bring you the very first installment of said series! Our first interviewee is someone who excels in a very particular field: TREASURE!
Let's find out more from this heralded adventurer, MrBaxs, the adventurer with the most individual Treasure Items!
GM Polly
Would you care to introduce yourself please?
MrBaxs
Hello everyone, I'm MrBaxs. I didn't expect to have any recognition in our community, I started my journey back in 2017, the day before Archer was released. I'm grinding to this day, as life goes on... collecting stuff, mostly for my own enjoyment and, of course, to flex stuff in chat lol.
GM Polly
It is a pleasure to meet you! Now then, let's list what you have, shall we? This acclaimed adventurer here has acquired the following items during their journey:
1x Nouverikant Armor & Helmet
1x Lion's Ring
1x Ebenruth's Nol
1x Ancient Ornette's Spirit Essence, 4x Ornette's Spirit Essence
1x Ancient Odore's Spirit Essence, 4x Odore's Spirit Essence
1x Lafi Bedmountain's Upgraded Compass
and a whopping 10x Archaeologist's Maps...
GM Polly
I have to ask, what spurred you on to acquire TEN Archaeologist's Maps??
MrBaxs
My story is a bit weird, it starts back in 2020. I was the winner of the mystery of summer event, back then.. the prize of it was.. a treasure item as well, the Lion's Ring. After I got my hands on that, I wanted to keep grinding for other treasure items the game had to offer in order to compliment the Lion's Ring.
MrBaxs
Back then, 2017/18 owning an Archaeologist's Map was considered good, we had TRI boss gear at best, no Agris, no toggable loot scrolls, silver had weight, and a lot of other stuff that made BDO much harder; I remember being so proud of my first map.
Then, the modern BDO, with the seasons and all the juicy QoL upgrades, made me want to grind some more for fun, and let me tell you.. it was so easy after that first one.
MrBaxs
Maps are just too good to not have one ready everywhere. Before the magnus was a thing, I used the map so much everyday in pretty much anything i was doing... I like Sulfur and especially Pila Ku for the feeling of nostalgia it brings me, but the map is one of those items that totally changed the way I play, and I personally feel I prefer having the teleport ability over anything else.
GM Polly
Which treasure item did you pursue first? Which did you most recently acquire?
GM Polly
Was there any specific order you followed in obtaining the treasure items?
MrBaxs
The first treasure item I got was an Archaeologist's Map back in 2017/18. It was also the one I wanted the most since, at that time, Hystria and Aakman were big boy territory and I wasn't ready to go there. After I got the first map, I went to grind for a second.. and then a third. That was before the infinite potions were implemented in the game, I then went for them; I first made a set of [Ancient] potions -- when the pity pieces weren't in the game --and, shortly after, I grinded for additional sets of potions for my alts.
GM Polly
Now, considering all the treasure items you currently own, which would you say has been the most useful? Which one has been the least useful?
GM Polly
Do you regret any time spent obtaining any one of the treasure items due to its lack of use for you?
MrBaxs
Map is the most useful, the Lion's Ring the second most... HP pot third... the Nol is literally an eberNUT nol >_>, and the least most useful item, which I totally hate, is the Compass. The stupid Elten Piece had me stuck inside the Hystria hell hole for 1 year, crying, and it's pretty much useless since I have no friends to teleport lol.
GM Polly
Is there any specific treasure item you are seeking to acquire next?
MrBaxs
I'm working on the normal Merchant's Ring since forever, but still only 3/5 of the way completed.
GM Polly
The Lion's Ring and Merchant's ring don't stack though, right? Do you just want to have another item to flex?
MrBaxs
Yes, you got me >_>. It's funny because, when I flex the Lion's Ring in the chat, nobody cares.
GM Polly
Okay, just one more question...
GM Polly
If you could make a brand new treasure item, what would you create and why?
MrBaxs
There is something stupid I always wanted, 2 treasure ideas: One is a permanent worker food. Why? Because I hate feeding them, and I would like to have it permanent. Like an endless "Beer", you could have it loaded with like 2k worth of worker stamina and feed workers untill it becomes depleted, requiring it to be manually refilled.. It's stupid, but could be something.
MrBaxs
The second idea is a treasure for horse taming that negates the minigame completely since I hate it. Won't have to press spacebar anymore with this item...
GM Polly
Hmm an infinite beer, and a kind of 'super' lasso, that's interesting. Do you have names for these items?
MrBaxs
I'm gonna create them right now...
MrBaxs
[The King Beer] and [Rope of Krogdalo]
GM Polly
Do you have any final words for your audience?
MrBaxs
Stay hydrated while you grind; it's going to drop. No matter how hard you try, it's destiny. It's not your lootscroll, just be relaxed and think about how f***** I am with my 10 maps xD.
MrBaxs
P.S Tent buff is worth, pop it.
A big thank you to everyone who enjoyed reading the interview,
and special thanks to MrBaxs, who was willing to talk with us!
Good luck to each and every one of you who are on your own personal journey
to acquire one or more of the treasure items in Black Desert!
Take care, everyone, see you in the next interview!
