Witch Lore
◈ Awakening
Mages... No, it hasn't been long since those who prefer to call themselves sages have appeared in this land.
Scholars of the present claim to have dated traces of these sages as far back as ancient times.
Somewhere far from this world, there was a circle of knowledge seekers studying magical phenomena. They had always longed for, explored, and craved new knowledge, and considered that fulfilling that call was the most important purpose of their lives.
As time passed, the community was divided into several schools of thought and study.
The Godr-Ayed Thea, specializing in the primordial elements, became the most powerful and respected school of sages.
Among the various factions, there was a school of thought that focused on the study of the earth and lightning elements. The school was called Labreve, and it only consisted of witches, female sages.
Although Labreve was a young organization, its growth was being expedited by a gifted witch named Deneve. Unlike other schools of thought, they devoted themselves to the study of Aad's Pharos to research the energy of the elements, and their purely theoretical approach greatly contributed to the reconstruction of their existing magical power in a new form.
One of Deneve's most prized achievements was the invention of teleportation magic by approaching Aad's Pharos from a completely new perspective. This space movement magic was received well and highly acclaimed across the world, and became a subject for all sages to learn.
But Deneve never stopped her research. Unlike other sages, she believed that an unknown world existed far beyond and outside the existence of the very world she lived in.
This firm belief motivated Deneve to concentrate even more her research on Aad's Pharos. Deneve's dedication finally came to fruition. She discovered a method to commune with the primal force of the two elements. Through the newly-discovered method, Deneve was able to summon Gorr and Tett, each a guardian made out of pure elemental mass, and reach enlightenment by communing with them.
After that, Deneve created a sphera, a type of magic crystal, a magic tool used in their world, through which she could freely utilize her newly obtained knowledge.
She carried the sphera with her anytime, anywhere, completely breathing through and living with the purity of the two elements. She named it Aad Sphera, after the subject she specialized in.
It was through communing with the Aad Sphera that Deneve acknowledged the existence of another world. Years of research and study had led to that moment. It was a dangerous move, but without hesitation she risked everything and attempted to teleport to that other world.
Her senses became overloaded with glaring lights and a cacophony of deafening noises too loud to distinguish. Then silence. She looked around and found something she had never seen before... nighttime. Everything seemed so foreign, yet so exciting. The first of the sages to make her way to a new world. Deneve knew she needed to absorb as much knowledge as possible.
She traveled from one land to the next, learning everything she could about the world around her. She discovered that everything that made up the world were the elements the sages studied.
She also learned that she was not the first traveler as she first thought. She could feel the path of a predecessor who walked it before, another sage who had traveled between worlds. She needed to know who this visionary was, and how they had managed to do what they did without informing the other sages.
As she teleported in search of that individual's traces, she felt a force like no other. This difficult to identify force was dismantling the boundaries between dimensions, breaking down space, and she was trapped in front of it. The moment the boundary was broken, she dreamt of being engulfed by a colossal darkness, an abyss that was swallowing her whole.
She awoke as if her mind had been cleared of all thought. She attempted to recall memories of what had happened, but the only thing she could think of was a vague feeling of being someplace familiar.
