Black Desert launched in EU. It was an exciting time full of promises. I started playing on Jordine with a couple of friends and we decided on Balenos 2 as our main channel, which has remained my lucky channel till today. Little did I know, that there would be a very special player walking around on that very same server.

Derping around and playing with horses is all I did till that one evening when I joined a guild. Most of the players in this guild also didn't know what they were doing, but still managed to make some life long enemies. Who happened to be very good at the game, resulting in me getting my ass kicked a lot of times. It was during one of these spanking sessions that I saw him: a warrior in the conquerors outfit waving a mighty +13 Yuria main hand. After him and 2 of his friends killed our group of 8 people dozens of times, we started chatting.

And of course, by chatting I mean me talking to him about my horses. I was so proud of my T6 with sprint I could talk on and on for hours. When the whispering got too tedious we started voice calling and did things together in game; riding around on my first T6 with two seater, grinding some scary monsters, doing quests, you name it. While our guilds were still at war and the members of both guilds had nothing but hate for each other. Looking back, it felt like a crappy version of Romeo and Juliet. But hey, we had a lot of fun together!

You guessed right. We kept chatting, and living only 70km apart, we met in real life. Since that day, we saw each other every weekend and played BDO together. In the beginning of 2019 we bought our very own apartment which has a big desk for our pc's, so that we can play games together. Without BDO I wouldn't have met my partner; to this day I'm still grateful I got into the game and picked the right server and channel. As the Black Spirit would have it: bless RNG.
