tl;dr: give us options to turn every banner/notification off – individually or with a “silent mode”

Hello everyone! I thought already a few times about creating this post, but with the newest addition to the banners, I actually do.

When I started the game back in 2016 there were a lot of notifications, which are still in the game today, but the could all (or at least almost all) be turned off. But since a couple of years the banner spam gets ridiculous. I won’t deny, that they are all bad, some notifications are helpful, some are just annoying. But lately it got really worse. Starting with the Event-Banner which you can’t even click away. It only shows up once a day, but do we really need it? BDO has so many events, that the only way, we can track them all, is visiting the website or some other resource, so in my opinion the banner is not necessary. Once after the patch notes would be enough, better make just a option for it.

The nearly fullscreen “account transfer ends” banner is also needless. How many people are playing BDO and have friends, who formerly played BDO but have not been informed as of today? And if we forget to tell them, there’s also the system message every now and then, which reminds us. A banner over almost the full screen is just…
Same goes with the BSA dice banner. At least I get it, that it is useful for some players, but we also have the dice-icon. That are the big things, then all the tiny popups and bubbles when some buff runs out in 2(!) days or when a scroll runs out. We have the dark rift opens banner, the red glowing dark rift icon with the bubble, the Level X information box after we reach level 52(?) even if we have several level 60 characters on the account.

I, for myself, restart the game only after patches, if it doesn’t crash (fortunately it rarely crashes on my pc). But every day I’m confronted with all the banners again. I’m not saying, that they all should be removed but please give us the option to turn them off. The best way would be an individual option for each banner type, so everybody can customize it to the own needs but I would already be very happy with a “silent mode” of the game. One option to turn off every popup, every text bubble (except for tooltips) and every notification. Because most of the time, I just want to play without being prompted all the time with something. If there’s an exception with the pearl shop banner, I’m fine with it too, because the pearl shop is, where the money is made and with only this banner, it wouldn’t be so annoying and the banner would even be more impactful.

Any sane new player quit instantly when he sees the clusterfuck ad/popup spamm this game has. It legit looks like some shitty website with malicious ads and popups everywhere.

The most pathetic part is that the devs legit don't feel how shitty the UI is with al the pointless clutter they put in for no reason.

Exactly my thoughts. I have seen so many complaints from new players how bloated the game is with useless notifications like enhancement and etc. So many of them drop the game because of it. 

Why is it so hard for devs to understand that notification spam should be turned off by default? 

I totally agree, we went from too little communication with kakao and now it's just spamming us with useless information with PA. I don't really know why it annoys me so much but I hate when they are doing their stupid twitch streams and any time I relog during the broadcast I get notified + an on-screen icon for the stream too. Not even mentioning every day when you relog it's minimum 2 popup ads in the bottom right that only one you can stop for the day and even up to 3 if it's during the streaming time. I just see in the future where they have a solid 5-10 minutes of pop-up ads every time you relog for random events or streams or cash shop or whatever else they add in later. 

I don't even relog that much but the few times I do I would rather not see ads for stuff I already know about and either don't care or already have if I do care. Also, who at PA thought we needed a popup ad for just the "EVENT" page? Who relogs just to get a worse way to see the events when it's easily accessed in other windows or through other methods?

Right, I know at least one player who gave up on the game after seeing that all. Alltough I told, that many things can be turned off. And a few others who were really annoyed till they found the options for it.

BUMP. Seriously, these notifications are still so annoying, like for season char creation... I can only mute for ONE DAY?? What?! Then tomorrow i have to click "don't show again today" again!! Come on guys!

And the dice notifications... there is no hide/mute/x button. The right-pointing arrow that seems like it should close the window actually just opens BSA dice. There is no 'x' or 'hide' button....

I feel you. It feels like a cheap korean mmo that gets advertised on gray area anime site like "you won't last 5 minutes playing this game" lol The game feels more like a mobile freemium game than a legitimate piece of art. It's sad because BDO started out as an innovator to the MMORPG scene. Now it's seen as a joke throughout the MMO community. They can look more legitimate by getting rid of banner spam. It's so infuriating and the fact that it resets every day is even more BS. Why would they make it pop OVER the icons at the bottom? They're blocking the cash shop button! There, i just gave them motivation.

A few months ago they had a popup that occupied half of the screen every time you logged in with a character. It got so much hate. I hated it too because it would often take the entire screen without the ability to click the X button. I guess it was a bug with 4k window mode but it was really bad having to alt+ctrl+del out of the game just to hope it worked the next time around.
