Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on December 20, 2023 (Wed). Today’s patch contains 105 updates and is approximately 2.22GB.

• Released Scholar, the maven of Alchemy, earthen metals, and all things relative to mass and velocity.
  • Scholar's Ascension quest [Scholar Ascension] Echoes of a Forgotten Place becomes available at Lv. 56.
    • Complete the Ascension questline to obtain all the skills in the Awakening Weapon tab.
  • The below AP ratio is applied for main and awakening weapon skills.
    • Main weapon skills: 100% of main weapon AP
    • Awakening weapon (Ascension) skills: 70% of awakening weapon AP, 30% of main weapon AP
  • Scholar's enhanced (Rabam) and Abyssal Legacy skills will be added at a later date.

• Added the Hall of Adventurers: Scholar chat group for all Scholar-focused adventurers to flock and discuss the class.            
• Increased the maximum character slots by 1 due to the addition of the new class. (31 → 32 slots)

* If you use a growth reset item on this Dream Horse, its initial level stats (speed/acceleration, etc.) will be reset to Lv. 1 but all skills will remain with mastery still retained at 100%.

Certain horse skills require specific gear to use!
You need a Saddle and Champron to use Sprint and Charge skills, respectively.
Also, you need Stirrups to enter combat (LMB) and fight while riding a horse.
You can obtain these three pieces of horse gear from the Challenge (Y) menu upon claiming Vipiko's Dreaming Horse.

  • Season servers are special servers designed with novice Adventurers in mind. Leveling is also faster compared to normal servers.
    • You'll find the Season Character Ticket counter displayed in the Character Selection window after logging in.
    • You can hold up to 5 Season Character Tickets at a time.

Guaranteed enhancement using Time-filled Black Stones on PRI (I), DUO (II), TRI (III) Tuvala gear has a 100% success rate, regardless of the enhancement chance stack you have (and will not consume said stack.)

Berserker

In today's update, Succession Berserker has been improved to deal powerful damage when using the Prime: Devastation and Ultimate: Frenzied Destroyer, which applies extra attack damage from Frenzied Destroyer, in combo. And considering the long cooldown of Prime: Fearsome Tyrant, its damage has been increased.

Witch

Awakening Witch has a combat style that involves using the high-damage, short-cooldown Fissure Wave during the cooldown periods of other skills and incorporating additional skills in between. To address Witch's perceived lack of attack damage, we have increased the damage of skills other than Fissure Wave.

Archer

Archers have been using the Ensnare, which has low damage and a long casting time, to acquire the Critical Hit Rate Increase buff. So we resolved this by moving the Critical Hit Rate Increase buff to the easy-to-use Gaping Darkness, making it easier to acquire the buff than before. Additionally, when Archer engaged in PvE, the majority of the damage came from the Crossbow skills Covering Fire, Earth Shatter, and Sunfall. However, the damage of Arrow Explosion, Bolt of Radiance, and Greatbow skills has been increased so that you can deal considerable damage during combat.

Main Weapon, Ascension

Ensnare (I to III), Gaping Darkness

• Moved the Critical Hit Rate +30% (for 10 sec) effect of Ensnare to Absolute: Gaping Darkness.

• • Removed the Critical Hit Rate increase effect from Ensnare (I to III).

• • Added the Critical Hit Rate +20/22/24/26/30% (for 10 sec) effect to Gaping Darkness (I to Absolute).

 

Piercing Cry

• Fixed the issue where the skill was not comboed from Gaping Darkness.

Guardian

We have improved Succession Guardian's main combo skills such as Mountain Slam, Avalanche Strike, and Black Blood Circle, by increasing their damage. This allows for higher efficiency in various Monster Zones than before. Additionally, the damage of the Claw Reveal, which served to fill the gaps between skills, has also been partially supplemented to ensure stable PvE when using various combos.

Maegu

Before the Skill Add-on Update, Succession Maegu, with its main skills with Tier 3 skill add-ons such as Spirit Swirl and Bristling Sparks, could easily apply the Tier 3 add-on effect and engage in PvE. However, now all classes have been improved to receive high add-on effects without much difference. And the overall PvE balance adjustments are active. As a result, the damage of Succession Maegu has become insufficient, so we have increase it with the Spirit Swirl, Bristling Sparks, Heavenward Dance, and Nukduri Dance.

• Improved matchmaking in Arena of Solare Practice Matches to pair you with other waiting participants more quickly.

• Changed the objective of Herald's Journal - Volume 2 Chapter 1 in the Old Moon Logs bookshelf: Catching blue grade fish x2 → x1.

• Changed the Old Moon Grand Prix as follows:
  • Adjusted the speed correction values applied according to each rank:
    • 1st - 5th place: No change
    • 6th - 10th place: Speed correction -30%
  • Fixed the issue where the horse unnaturally jumped depending on the situation when stopping abruptly while running.
  • Fixed the issue where the boost gauge was abnormally recharged when a specific command was input during Instant Accel activated by pressing W or F after a drift.

• Improved enhancement failure when using Cron Stones to add 1 stack to Enhancement Chance.
  • This does not apply to enhancement failures when using J's Hammer of Loyalty.

• Changed the item icons for Loggia, Srulk, and Manos Sailing Logs.

• Changed the icon for Siren Song Aura.

• Changed the sap ingredient that did not match the region when manufacturing the Artisan/Master's Stuffed Belladonna Elephant items into Special Stuffed items.
  • Changed crafting material: Elder Tree Sap x10 → Moss Tree Sap x10

• Added description to J's Hammer of Loyalty related to Ator's Shoes.
• Removed the level restriction from the Tuvala Greatbow.

• Removed the All AP +5 effect from [CP] Nesser Gloves.

• Added Extra AP Against Monsters +7 to the Slumbering Origin Armor 3-set effect.

• Changed nearby enemy detection range after the appearance of the Cursed Pirate Ship in the Sea of Silence, so that before re-entering the sea, detection range is doubled.
• Changed the pattern of Kuhn's roll during the battle with Lost Fruit Ascendra in [Daily] TET (IV) Third Duel of the Undying, so that it does not appear unless certain conditions have been met.

Improvements has been made so that sailing can be enjoyed comfortably with the combination of BreezySail and Power Accel. (↑+ SPACE) skills, which are useful when departing on a ship.

• Improved the usability of Big Ships so that the BreezySail and Power Accel. skills can be used in succession.
• Changed the required stamina needed for Power Accel. skill from 65 to 10.
• The types of Big Ship are detailed below.

• Improved the Hunter's Token Exchange button of Igor Bartali so that it is always displayed when you possess Hunter's Token.
  • Improved the issue that during the Balenos Main Quest line, the exchange of Hunter’s Token in the Progression Pass was prevented due to the exchange button being hidden.
• Improved the dialogue of Resh who appears after completing the quest [Ulukita] An Unmissable Bond.
• Improved some subtitles shown during the [Ulukita] Whispers in Mediah's Wind cutscene.

• Changed the loading screen image.

• Changed the design of the confirmation screen upon exiting the game.

• Changed the launcher icon to that of Scholar.

• Added Tag Characters function to the Menu.
• Improved the Pearl Shop (F3) so that when purchasing a product, applied coupons can be cancelled without closing the window.

• Added Scholar to the Overview - Class Introduction page of the official website.
• Fixed the issue where clicking links in banners or the Adventure Note sometimes did not work.

• Changed and unified the following in English:

• [Kunoichi, Ninja] Improved the issue where a black afterimage remained when a cutscene ends during the use of certain skills.

• Fixed the issue where the door on the 2nd floor of Ancado Inner Harbor 1-3 opened unnaturally.

• Fixed this issue of overlapping registration dates in the Central Market by removing “Status” in the Purchase tab and “Regd. Price” in the Sell tab.
• Fixed the issue where in the Sell tab of the Central Market, the Market Silver Collection increase display and registration date overlapped.
• Fixed the issue where unnatural dialogue was played during the first conversation with Zraiman at Ulukita Barhan Camp
• Fixed the issue where some NPCs in the Battle Arena were located on abnormal terrain.
• Fixed the issue that when purchasing goods from the Trade Manager, character Inventory could not be switched to whilst mount Inventory was open.
