Morning Light - Seoul

The gates to Seoul, the capital of the Land of the Morning Light, have been flung open to all travelers.

Now, you can embark on a grand adventure to Seoul. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the adventurers who have eagerly awaited this moment.

The Hwanghae Province chapter of the Morning Light saga aims to beautifully render the capital city of Seoul and to gracefully tie up the narratives laid out in the previous Donghae Province chapter. We hope that adventurers will take their time and delight in exploring every corner of Seoul.

As the tale of the Land of the Morning Light draws to a close, we too feel a bittersweet mix of emotions. Using these experiences as a stepping stone, we are now even more committed to preparing for the adventures that await back in the original continent of Black Desert.

So, please enjoy the Seoul chapter of the Morning Light saga to the fullest!

Thank you.
  • The way to Seoul, capital of the Land of the Morning Light, is now open to all travelers.
    • As the gates of the capital, Seoul, swing open, every corner of the realm, officials and workers, Earfolk and Shellfolk, woodcutters and Dokkebi, and even wandering travelers, all converge upon the heart of the kingdom.

[Morning Light - Seoul] World Bosses

With the latest Seoul update, four new World Bosses have been unveiled.

Joining the ranks of the familiar Sangoon and the Golden Pig King are two formidable foes from Hwanghae Province: the fearsome Bulgasal and the elusive Uturi.

The primary rewards for these epic battles include the essential materials for crafting the Sovereign weapons, such as the "Flame of the Primordial" and the exclusive enhancement material, "Primordial Black Stone." Akin to the Crimson Dragon Garmoth, you can embark on quests to claim these coveted rewards once per week from each boss.

And beware... these new World Bosses are immensely powerful. (However, fear not, for your crystals shall remain unscathed.)

Bulgasal, Uturi, Sangoon, and Golden Pig King

  • Added world bosses to Donghae and Hwanghae Provinces with the opening of Morning Light - Seoul.
    • Added the following 4 world bosses. Their respective spawn locations are as follows.
Boss Spawn Location
Bulgasal
"The lament of Bulgasal echoes throughout Holbon."
Uturi
"Uturi's cries echo throughout the Martial God Tournament arena."
Sangoon
"Sangoon's earth-shaking roar causes the people to tremble in fear."
Golden Pig King
"The Golden Pig King roams aimlessly, consumed by fury."
* RMB the world boss icon in the World Map to navigate to their respective spawn location.
* There is no death penalty (broken crystals, EXP loss, etc.) for Morning Light world bosses.
- Characters with negative Karma risk being penalized for death from fighting these bosses.

    • You can find the details from the Adventurer's Guide - [World Bosses].

    • Defeat each World Boss and claim your rewards through the Region Quests UI in the top right of your screen..
* Each boss region quest is a weekly quest, resetting every Thursday at midnight (00:00 UTC).
- The four types of bosses in the Land of the Morning Light appear 11 to 12 times each week. You only need to defeat one of each type to receive all the rewards for that week.

Black Shrine - Hwanghae Province (Party)

Black Shrine 2 - Seoul Edition is now live.

The Black Shrine 2 offers a cooperative boss battle designed for five players, setting it apart from the original.

In the Black Shrine 2, you'll be using your personal gear. The sun, moon, and earth auras have been reimagined. Opt for the sun to speed up your takedowns and climb the ranks, while stacking moon aura boosts your survival in battle. Earth aura, on the other hand, increase your retry chances upon resurrection or failure to break boss mechanism, depending on the number of adventurers in your party who selected the earth aura.

We've split the difficulty into Normal and Hard modes. The Normal mode requires an optimal AP of 300, while the Hard mode requires 330. Although the boss mechanism isn't as daunting as Elvia Atoraxxion, you'll need to get a handle on the mechanisms when you first dive in.

The Deposed Crown Prince, in particular, is expected to be a formidable challenge befitting the Hard mode. It's a worthy goal for any adventurer seeking a test of skill.

Successfully defeating this boss will grant adventurer parties exclusive rewards. Additionally, new items have been added that can be exchanged for tokens earned by defeating these bosses. One such item is the Bonghwang Statue, which can be crafted as furniture.

Each boss in the Black Shrine of Hwanghae Province has its own unique allure. We hope you and your guildmates or friends enjoy this distinctive combat experience.

※ Please note that the boss "Cheoyong" in Black Shrine - Hwanghae requires further adjustments and will not be available this time. We are working to ensure it is well-prepared for future updates.

  • Added new party-based content, the "Black Shrine - Hwanghae (Party)."

Black Shrine - Hwanghae (Party) - Bosses

  • Added the following bosses to the Black Shrine - Hwanghae (Party).
Jigwi
Blue-clad Youth
The unquenchable Jigwi's fire consumes all in its path.
Tackle trials that test your party's coordination and trust.
Bulgasal
Uturi
Devastating, fatal attacks will dominate this battlefield.
Command armies and strike the weak with a swift, precise slingshot.
Dark Bonghwang
Deposed Crown Prince
The heat of the Dark Bonghwang, symbolizing the morning sun, envelops the land.
With the power of the Creator God and the Dark Bonghwang, he slices through the black sky's moon.

Black Shrine - Hwanghae (Party) - Sun, Moon, and Earth Auras

  • When entering the Black Shrine - Hwanghae (Party), each member can carry one type of aura: Sun, Moon, or Earth, to participate in combat.
    • Depending on the number of each aura the party holds, beneficial effects will be provided for the boss subjugation.
Sun Aura The more members with this aura, the shorter the battle.
Moon Aura The more members with this aura, the better the chances of survival.
Earth Aura The more members with this aura, the greater the revival/retry attempts.

Black Shrine - Hwanghae (Party) - Difficulties

  • The Black Shrine - Hwanghae (Party) offers the following difficulties at entry.
Normal Challenge
300 AP 330 AP
* The stats from the Light Orb used in the existing Black Shrine will not affect this content. Instead, your character's equipment stats will be fully applied.
* You will need to form a party of 5 to enter this Black Shrine. Only the party leader can initiate entry. If all 5 members belong to the same guild, your rank will be recorded, and you can earn rank rewards.
* Cut scenes played in the Black Shrine can be skipped if the majority of the party (at least 3 out of 5 members) agrees.
* Potion items cannot be used during the Black Shrine. However, HP and MP/WP/SP will naturally recover over time.
- You can also recover HP and MP/WP/SP through skills and recovery orbs that appear in the shrine.

Berserker
Awakening
Black Spirit: Titan Blow
  • Fixed the issue where the All AP increase buff wasn't being applied when using the skill.

Tamer
For Tamer's Succession, the damage of the Heuklang: Surging Tide skill in PvP was excessively high compared to other skills. To address this, we have adjusted the damage of Heuklang: Surging Tide and increased the damage of Heuklang: Throat-Burn, Heuklang: Roaring, and Heuklang: Whiplash.

Main, Succession
  • Fixed the following damage while riding Heuklang.
Skill Name Before After
Heuklang: Surging Tide (with Prime: Summon Heuklang learned)
Dash attack damage 5710% x1
Last attack damage 5710% x1, max 4 hits
Damage -42.5% in PvP only

Attack damage 4500% x1
Damage -53% in PvP only
Attack damage 5132% x1
Damage -50% in PvP only

Witch, Wizard
As monsters' attacks have become stronger, there have been instances where summons like "Gorr/Tett" and "Arne/Marg" run out of HP during combat, causing inconvenience for adventurers playing as Witches and Wizards. To address this, we've doubled the HP of summons for these two classes to reduce the inconvenience caused by their deaths.

Awakening
  • Doubled the max HP of Gorr, Tett, Arne, and Marg.

Striker
In the last update, we applied the Forward Guard effect to the Flow: Bombardment and changed the comboing skill to Flow: Explosive Blow instead of Combo: Venom Fang.
This was done because, in Succession, Prime: Crimson Fang did not apply Stiffness. So, for the combo of Prime: Crimson Fang - Flow: Deathstrike - Flow: Bombardment, we aimed to follow up with the Knockdown effect of Flow: Explosive Blow.
For the combo targeting Down Smash, originally Flow: Bombardment - Combo: Venom Fang - Combo: Final Blow, we adjusted it so that after Flow: Bombardment, the skill Taebaek Kick would follow, enabling the sequence Flow: Bombardment - Taebaek Kick (Down Smash) - Martial Deva - Flow: Savage Fang (Down Smash) - Roaring Tiger (Down Smash) to be utilized.
However, this debuff combo was particularly ineffective for subjugation as it was unable to deal as much damage compared to the previously frequent combos. We apologize to Striker adventurers for the inconvenience this has caused.
Therefore, we have reverted the combo back to Flow: Bombardment - Combo: Venom Fang and adjusted the damage of Flow: Explosive Blow, allowing adventurers to consider its use when leading into Flow: Explosive Blow combos.

Main, Succession
Flow: Bombardment > Combo: Venom Fang
  • Changed so you can now LMB after Flow: Bombardment to combo into Combo: Venom Fang.

Combo: Final Blow
  • Fixed the issue where the Casting Speed reduction effect was incorrectly applied.

Flow: Explosive Blow (I to Absolute)
  • Changed the damage as follows.
    • Changed Combo: Final Blow to apply the same damage of the skill, accordingly.
Before After
754% / 1005% / 1352% x2, Damage -34.1% in PvP only 1408% / 1877% / 2502% x2, Damage -42.5% in PvP only

Nova
Nova's Succession Winter Testudo was buffed in the last update, making it a valuable tool for protecting forts and other structures during Node War.
With the addition of Super Armor during installation and increased duration, the protection and stability of this skill have been significantly enhanced. Consequently, Nova now needs to stay near the barrier for it to be maintained.
Additionally, if Nova is killed, the barrier will be removed. This change presents an option for opponents to focus their attacks on dismantling the barrier, while also giving Nova the opportunity to use this risk to draw enemy attacks towards herself.

Main
Winter Testudo
  • Changed to remove the barrier if you move a certain distance away from it after casting the skill.
  • Fixed the issue where the guards remained even when the effects of the barrier had disappeared after the character died.

Maegu
Awakening
Twirling Crane
  • Fixed the issue where the Critical Hit Damage Increase effect from the skill's passive effects would disappear when performing skills that switch to your main weapon from Foxtail Fans.

Class Changes
  • [Maehwa] Black Spirit: Prime: Red Moon - Fixed the issue where you could activate the skill with Red Blade even if the skill was locked.
  • [Mystic] Prime: Hidden Claw - Fixed the issue where last attack hits would prevent attack 1 from recovering Martial Spirits.
  • [Corsair] Mareca: Sea Stroll - Fixed the description to match the actual skill.
  • [Dusa] Cloudveil - Fixed the issue where Flow: Rising Slash could not be activated with RMB after Fog Cleave when the skill was unavailable.
  • [Corsair] Mareca: Spiral Soak (I to Absolute) - Fixed the issue where could not be comboed into other skills.
  • [Woosa] Kaleidoscope Swirl (I to Absolute) - Fixed the issue where attack 2 was not properly recovering MP.
  • [Scholar] Flow: Gold Continuum - Fixed the issue where using the skill didn't apply the Core Activation effect, leading to fall damage from high places.

The feature that summons your mount after completing a Main quest is designed to help you conveniently move to the next quest location. However, there has been instances where mounts were called to dangerous places which caused inconveniences.
