Scholar
Following our latest update, we've received a wealth of feedback about Scholar. Most notably, many Adventurers have voiced concerns about the attack area of certain skills. In response, we've made some adjustments. The attack area of one of the main skills, Flow: Golden Thunder, has been slightly increased, and Infinite Power and Hammerfall have been improved to apply a wider attack area forward. Furthermore, Rabam (Enhanced) skills for Scholar will be introduced through the Black Desert Global Lab on Jan 5.
Core Fusion
  • Increased movement distance while using the skill.
    • Accordingly, changed so that stamina does not recover while the skill is in use.
  • Changed so that the character rotates along with the camera rotation until just before the attack while using the skill.

Base Energy Increase (30 → 50)

We've increased the base Energy of a newly created Family ready to embark on an adventure from 30 to 50. (The maximum Energy of existing adventurers will also increase by 20.) In addition, the energy costs to acquire knowledge in the Balenos region, where many adventurers begin their new journey, has generally decreased. We hope that rookie adventurers, who have taken their first step into the world of Black Desert, will feel less burdened when spending Energy to acquire Knowledge, thus learning more about the world.
  • Increased the base Energy for all adventurers: 30 → 50
    • Now creating a new Family will see adventurers begin with 50 Energy. Existing adventurers will see their max Energy increased by 20.
  • Reduced the Energy costs of acquiring Knowledge in Balenos.

Atoraxxion Prequel Quest Now Optional

One of the inconveniences when teaming up with other adventurers on Season Servers was the required quest to enter Atoraxxion, especially for new adventurers. Now you can enter Atoraxxion without having completed the prerequisite quest. During development of entering Atoraxxion through its own unique UI instead of via the Ancient Stone Chamber, we felt this was a task that required priority, as well as a long overdue quality-of-life improvement. However, to prevent new adventurers from accidentally entering Atoraxxion via the Ancient Stone Chamber, we retained the minimum level requirement as before.
  • Worn by time, a portion of the Ancient Stone Chamber has crumbled, revealing a hidden space.
    • The Talibre's Door - Sol Magia located within the hidden space has activated its emergency protocol.
    • Now you can interact with Talibre's Door - Sol Magia at Ancient Stone Chamber to enter Atoraxxion without having progressed through the Atoraxxion main questline.
    • Progress through the Atoraxxion questline to remove the emergency protocol from Talibre's Door - Sol Magia and activate it normally, which will change it to shine radiantly.
    • Only adventurers who have reached level 60 or above can set foot in Atoraxxion.
    • Note that the button to move to Atoraxxion will not be displayed while you are in the process of a quest that requires interaction with Talibre's Door - Sol Magia in the Ancient Stone Chamber.

  • Somewhere in the Great Desert of Valencia, where the Black Desert and the Red Desert meet, a massive sandstorm swept across the desert once.
    • After it passed, a mysterious entrance revealed itself, leading to an unknown destination.
    • Sameh, the manager of the Ibellab Oasis who discovered this, is cautioning adventurers crossing the desert that it is clearly the entrance to an ancient civilization's ruins.
  • Since the entrance of Hystria Ruins was discovered, one exit leading to its entrance has been removed.

  • Added the feature to exchange TET (IV) Blackstar weapons that cannot be registered on the Central Market into Godr-Ayed weapons.
    • You can proceed with the questline via Merindora, the Eldest Spirit in Grána. Bring her the Scorching Sun Crystal and an un-registerable TET (IV) Blackstar weapon to exchange into a Godr-Ayed weapon.
    • The exchanged Godr-Ayed weapon also cannot be registered on the Central Market.

Beginner Black Stone Consolidation

Today’s patch brings changes to some Monster Zones.

We've adjusted the expected revenue from loot in the Crypt of Resting Thoughts, Olun's Valley, Ash Forest, and Gyfin Rhasia Temple (Underground). Unlike the previous system, the max AP softcap for these Monster Zones has been set to 830 AP, making the areas more effective for those with higher level equipment. However, as the max AP increases, the HP of monsters has been adjusted to prevent them from being defeated too quickly, and to compensate for this we've increased the number of junk items dropped.

Additionally, the expected revenue from some of the top Monster Zones has been adjusted, including [Dehkia] Olun's Valley, [Dehkia] Ash Forest, [Dehkia] Cyclops, and the City of the Dead.

Lastly, Accessory Combination Ingredients that were dropped in Monster Zones was removed during last week's update, and changes were made so that only finished accessories can be obtained. Note that the drop rate of Deboreka Accessories, Tungrad Accessories, and Dawn Earrings in those Monster Zones with increased revenue has been adjusted. (As accessory ingredients are no longer available, the same probability of obtaining these ingredients has been applied to the complete items, with each respective item’s probability multiplier listed below.)

Improved Guild Boss Loot

Guild Boss Subjugation, where adventurers accompany their guild members in defeating bosses, will undergo some changes. Guild Boss Subjugation was initially designed as a fun gathering place where adventurers from the same guild could meet once a week, enjoy together, and share stories. However, with the recent increase in PvE revenue, it seems that the motivation to participate in Guild Boss Subjugation is insufficient, so we have adjusted the loot of bosses loot.

Also, Giant Mudster, Ferrid, and Puturum have been modified to allow for a more exciting combat experience. We have removed inconvenient mechanics, changed existing patterns, or added new ones to facilitate a more refreshing combat experience. We hope that these improvements to Guild Boss Subjugation will make it a fun gathering place for more adventurers in various guilds.

  • Improved the display of the gender of horses (male or female) on the horse icon shown on the character selection screen and character conversion screen when a character has a horse taken out.
    • The gender of Dream Horses and Race Horses will not be displayed.
 
  • Improved the notification that the preset has not been saved when closing the UI or checking another preset without saving the preset after equipping/un-equipping crystals.
    • The UI may close without saving depending on the settings when hit.
 
  • Removed the Heavy Weight notification that was displayed at the bottom right of the screen.
    • The weight notification displayed on the left side of the minimap will remain the same as before.
 
  • Improved the emphasis on the level in some items of the Season Pass.
  • Improved the ability to click on all enhancement chances of another adventurer's choice window during equipment enhancement.
    • When you click on the list, the Advice of Valks you own will be displayed.

  • Improved the ability to use Quick Hotkeys while matching in the Arena of Solare and Old Moon Grand Prix.
