New Additions and Improvements

Character

The goal of this balance patch was to give a solid boost to classes that are currently underperforming in PvE, changing the way they're perceived and making the improvements noticeable. This was a different approach from us, aimed at addressing the shortcomings of our previous, more conservative patches. Since we made many adjustments to the stats, we had to be mindful of any side effects. So, as we started the balance adjustment period, we made it clear that we'd step in for immediate changes if things got out of hand.
 
With today's update, this season's balance adjustments are wrapping up, but that doesn't mean we're done with all balance patches. We'll keep an eye on class balance and won't hesitate to make further changes if needed. Moreover, as we mentioned in the recent dev update video, we're carefully planning long-term changes not just for PvE, but for the entire PvP system as well. We'll make sure to set up a time to explain these plans in more detail to you adventurers soon.

For Wizard and Witch Succession, they shared the same skills with only minor differences from Prime: Elemental Flow. This limited how distinct the two classes could be from each other. With this update, we've changed Wizard Succession by increasing the cooldowns for Prime: Earthquake and Prime: Meteor Shower, but boosting their damage to better separate the classes' concepts.
Additionally, we've adjusted the cooldown reduction for Tier 3 magic when using elemental skills, making the main Tier 3 magic vary based on your skill focus.

Sting focuses on delivering powerful hits with swift, efficient movements, so we've reduced its attack area and adjusted the combos and effects of Comet, Royal Fencing: Lunge, and Twisted Orbit to strike enemy weaknesses more aggressively, while also significantly boosting their overall damage.

Carrack Sailor Fishing

A new sailor has joined the Epheria Carrack, letting you fish while you sail. Recently introduced as "Carrack Auto Fishing" in the dev updates, this feature lets you pursue seafaring activities—bartering or battling ocean monsters—while earning extra revenue. For simplicity, it doesn't rely on Fishing Mastery, so you can keep your focus on sailing.
 
Also, in our update video, we mentioned that the chance of catching Prize-grade fish was capped at 1%. We've bumped it up to 3% to make landing those valuable fish even more exciting.
 
We're working on a feature that will automatically discard fish below a certain grade, which is currently being used effectively in general fishing. We're aiming to roll this out to you soon.
  • Added the exclusive Oceanbound Otter Fishing Rod to allow fishing sailors to board the Epheria Carrack.
    • Now you can enjoy carrack sailor fishing when the Oceanbound Otter Fishing Rod is installed and a fishing sailor is on board.
      • The Otter accompanies sailing with just the Oceanbound Otter Fishing Rod equipped, but Carrack Sailor Fishing is not activated if no sailor is placed in the fishing sailor slot.
    • You can obtain the Oceanbound Otter Fishing Rod and fishing sailor with the following method:

* Carrack Sailor Fishing occurs once every 180 seconds. (he sailing UI gauge on the right charges the fishing progresses.)
Auto Sailor Fishing Gauge
Once the gauge is full, the UI lights up and fish is caught.
* Fishing progresses only while the Carrack is sailing, and does not progress when stationary. (Fishing continues during Ram, Power Accel., BreezySail, QuickRetreat, AbruptTurn, and SmoothTurn.)            
* Fishing gauge does not reset even if you release and then re-engage the Carrack's controls.            
* Fish caught through Carrack Sailor Fishing are obtained in the character's inventory. If a fish tank is present, they are obtained in the tank.            
* Only the Prize Catch Fish Rate from the fishing rod's effects is applied. The Prize Catch Fish Rate does not increase with Fishing Mastery.            
- The Prize Catch Fish Rate is fixed at 3% when using the Oceanbound Otter Fishing Rod for Carrack Sailor Fishing.            
- The Prize Catch group consists of Prize Fish and Ancient Relic Crystal Shard.            
* Fish caught through Carrack Sailor Fishing are subject to both the Weekly Fishing Contest and Fish Guide.            
* Catching fish through Carrack Sailor Fishing affects the fishing resource of the respective sea area.            
 

 
* Fishing gauge resets in the following situations:
- When the fishing rod is unequipped or replaced in the Carrack equipment slot.
- When the ship is checked into the wharf or destroyed.
- When moving to the character selection screen or exiting the game.

* Fishing is paused in the following situations:
- When the Durability of the Oceanbound Otter Fishing Rod is fully consumed.
- When the sailor placed in the fishing slot in the Manage Sailors UI is sick.
- When the ship is stationary.

 



Weekly Fishing Contest

First off, a big thank you to all the adventurers who joined the Weekly Fishing Contests over the last three weeks. We're excited to announce that the contest is becoming official content, not just a temporary event.
We've expanded the number of winners to 300, so more adventurers can share in the victory. We've also thrown in some new titles and special furniture to spark your competitive spirit.

Monster

  • Added "Embers of Resonance" to the loot obtainable from the Tungrad Ruins and City of the Dead monster zones.
  • Improved the issue in Black Shrine - Donghae (Solo) where adventurers were sometimes considered to have left the boss area during their fight against the Golden Pig King, even when they had not.



 

Quest & Knowledge

In Balenos, there were two main quests with an identical name, [Balenos] There's No "I" in Homework. However, only one of these granted the Inventory +1 Expansion item, while the other offered no such reward. To address this, the version without a reward has been removed. If you’ve already completed or are currently on this quest, you can now proceed with the version that grants the reward and receive the inventory expansion item.
  • Improved so that adventurers who have already completed or are currently on the unrewarded version of the [Balenos] There's No "I" in Homework quest can now proceed with the rewarded version.
    • Characters meeting the above conditions can accept the [Balenos] There's No "I" in Homework quest via Eileen in Velia.
    • During the Apr 30 (Wed) maintenance, any ongoing unrewarded [Balenos] There's No "I" in Homework quests will be forfeited.
 
Previously, deleting a character would also reduce the number of completed quests in Rulupee's Travels. But with today's update, you can delete characters without losing your progress. From now on, the quest count in Rulupee's Travels won't decrease, no matter what happens. Enjoy uninterrupted adventures with Rulupee's Travels.
  • Improved how quests are counted towards the completion of Rulupee's Travels.
 
  • Changed the status of "[Everfrost] A Step Further" to complete if "[Everfrost] To the Mountain of Eternal Winter" has already been completed but "[Everfrost] A Step Further" remains unfinished in the Quests.

UI

Until now, AP and DP were shown based solely on gear score—a simple and straightforward approach. However, as content like Node War (limited) and Conquest War—which demand more precise setups—has grown in importance, and as players look to optimize their builds for the specific monster zones, being able to see your total stats has become invaluable. To address this, we've updated the stat display so you can now choose to view either gear score view or total stats view.
 
Looking ahead, we believe that diaplying total stats provides a more accurate picture than gear score alone. If adventurers become more comfortable with and prefer the total stats view, we'll consider making it the default in the future update.
  • Added a setting to display stats using Total Stats.
    • Stat display now updates in the Equipment window, the My Stats panel in Monster Zone Info, and the top-left of the screen according to your Stat Display setting.
    • You can assign a hotkey to toggle Stat Display. 
    • AP and DP icons in the top-left now change color based on your Stat Display setting.
    • AP and DP font colors now change based on your species damage display setting.

System

With the recent improvements to entry restrictions for Elvia Realm while a boat/ship is taken out, we've also updated the rules for using the Abyssal Well when you are in a party or platoon. We'll keep making these changes to ensure adventurers have a smoother and more enjoyable experience.
  • Improved the Abyssal Veins Well to be usable while in a party/platoon.
    • You still need to leave your party/platoon when entering Abyss One: The Magnus.
 
  • Changed so that playing a Replay during Arena of Solare matchmaking now cancels the match.
 
  • Improved screen refresh speed when setting a distant destination for navigation.
 
  • Changed so that you can no longer disband a guild while inside the Guild Manor.



 

Web

  • Fixed the tooltip display for the list/thumbnail toggle button on the Activities page of the Adventurer's Board window.
  • Changed the display of certain adventurers' "Adventurer Profile - Adventure Records" on the official website to not show due to discrepancies with actual play records.
    • We will improve the Adventure Records to provide more useful information for adventurers.
  • Updated the gallery-style post list UI in Art & Media and Community Activities to the new format.
    • Adjusted spacing between posts.
    • Changed post thumbnails to a 4:3 ratio.
  • Removed Dislike stats from community (forum) posts.
 
  • Fixed data discrepancies on the Black Desert 10th Anniversary page and refined its UI and phrasing.
